Corporate Member MBEng

Member Class of the Association recognises an individual’s competence, being a combination of academic qualifications and practical experience which enable the individual to practise as a Building Engineer. Corporate membership signifies the attainment of a full professional qualification MBEng.

Corporate Members are entitled to use the designation 'Corporate Building Engineer' and the designatory letters MBEng. In addition, Corporate members in private practice, subject to design authorisation, are entitled to incorporate the Association's logo on their professional notepaper, display material, and also on site sign boards which can be obtained from ABE Headquarters on application.

Criteria for Entry 

The Association offers a number of routes for a candidate to demonstrate that they meet the key competencies of a building engineer as detailed in the membership critera.

The principal qualification required is an exempting first degree with honours classification OR equivalent qualification, experience and competence.

Evaluation of Professional Competence (EPC) or Level 6 NVQ/SNVQ

Professional Peer Review (Interview) Route
