The Level 6 qualification has been developed for candidates who have a significant role in the fields of Planning, Conservation and Building Control. It provides a means of recognising the competence of the profession in general and is also a natural progression from the Level 3 NVQ.
Programme Aims
The aim of the NVQ is to stretch and enhance the candidate’s performance in the workplace enabling them to provide evidence to meet the requirements of each unit. Some candidates may be required to expand their current job role to achieve the units required.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the NVQ, the candidate will be able to demonstrate they can:
- exchange information and provide advice to a variety of people, including work colleagues and the public.
- promote organisational services
- consult the community about changes in planning policies
- process and determine applications for financial incentives.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must currently be working within the chosen area of their qualification and have a minimum of 18 months’ experience.
Fees
NVQ Level 6 – £2,300 plus VAT
Course fees must be paid prior to commencement of the qualification. Instalment options may be offered upon agreement with the Centre.

- Access to ePortfolio (an internet-based assessment and verification system)*
- Course materials (excluding any recommended reading)
- Ongoing contact with you dedicated assessor
- One on-site assessment visit

*it is anticipated that most candidates will use the ePortfolio system, however candidates who require additional focus days with assessors may receive these at an additional cost of £100 per day.
