Stan Barker
Council Member - Stan Barker
Northern region Chair and former IMBM Vice President, Stan joined the ABE Council in May 2008 and currently works in the Council alongside three other members of the former IMBM Presidential Team.
Born in Whitburn near Sunderland, Stan currently lives in Biddick Woods, Washington with his wife and two sons. As a Senior Contract Administrator for the Gateshead Housing Company, Stan is involved in managing a technical team and delivering the Decent Homes Programme for Gateshead Council's housing stock.
Stan's education includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, Diploma in Home Inspection, Certificate in Education (FE) and TDLB Units D32/33. Qualified originally as an Architectural Technologist, Stan worked as a Building Manager before moving into further education as a lecturer in Building and Civil Engineering Studies. On his return to the industry he worked as a Building Surveyor before moving into his current role at the Gateshead Housing Company.
