Immediate Past President - Diane Marshall BSc (Hons) PPBEng FBEng MRICS
Diane was elected a Student member in 1984, Associate in 1988, Coporate member in 1991 and Fellow in 2003. She is a member of Council and has been extensively involved with the ABE activities over a number of years. Positions within the Association have included membership of the Education Committee and the Practical Task Panel. She continues her involvement with ABE activities with representation on the Building Control Alliance looking at the Future of Building Control.
Diane trained as a Building Control officer from leaving school and spent 17 years with Local Authority Building Control. she then moved into private sector Building Control with NHBC as Surveying Manager for the East & South East regions. Her role developed to Commercial Surveying Manager for England and Wales where she was responsible for the development of the Commercial Building Control Service within NHBC. She is now the Acting Group Head of building Control, responsible for the overall building control service for England and Wales.
Diane currently resides in Bedford with her husband David and two sons.
